Lilac Animal Intake & Recovery Volunteer Opportunities
LAIR is a 501(c)(3) ALL volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing and helping animals. We need volunteers for all kinds of important roles. Which of these sounds like something you may be interested in?
Care Provider
Any volunteer wanting to be hands-on with wildlife must be 16 years of age, and able to become permitted as a Category 4 Care Provider according to Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. We do have some domestic animals, however, that do not require permits to handle. This role involves feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment to the animals in our care.

Transportation
Transportation is one of the most important roles in any animal care organization. It allows the rehabilitators and care providers to focus on the animals, rather than having to take time away for veterinary appointments, supply pick up, and retrieving animals from the locations where they are found or contained.
Community Engagement
As a volunteer charity, we depend on donations and participation from the communities we serve. The only way they know we are here is for us to get the word out at events, telling everyone about our mission. If you like engaging others in activities you are passionate about, this could be your perfect opportunity!
If nothing above seems like your cup of tea, no worries! We have LOTS of options for getting involved!
Below are some of the other roles we need help with:
Hotline assistance
Enclosure maintenance & repair
Supply acquisition
Enrichment creation
